Creating Cultures of Writing and Thinking

Presented by Dale Worsley

In this series of a minimum of ten all-day workshops, a core facilitation group learns to help students, teachers and administrators practice writing as a tool for learning as well as for expression in a range of creative genres. The aim is for everyone to find their voice in a community of thinkers and writers. Staff and students alike take ownership of the process, working in grade and content teams that follow protocols and use agreements. The heightened focus on writing and its connection to the Next Generation Standards raises achievement and infuses school culture with a spirit of inquiry, collaboration and creativity. Note: the workshop has been effectively delivered online and the resulting student writing is a proven asset for engagement in remote instruction and online learning.
